PACIFIC MERMAID –
Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA)
What is APA?
The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is a separate fund used to cover the variable operating expenses incurred during your charter aboard PACIFIC MERMAID. These costs depend on guest preferences, cruising itinerary, and fuel usage.
Typical APA expenses include:
-
Food and beverages requested by the charter guests
-
Fuel for the main engines during cruising
-
Fuel for tenders and water sport equipment
-
Harbour and marina fees
-
Local permits and government taxes
-
Shoreside transport and guest activities
How the APA Works
The APA functions as an expense account managed by the captain on behalf of the charter guest. Before the charter, guests complete a preference sheet outlining food, beverage, and activity preferences. The crew then provisions the vessel accordingly. Throughout the charter, all purchases are made at cost and carefully recorded. Guests may request an update on the APA balance at any time. At the end of the charter, the captain will present a full expense summary with receipts. Any unused APA funds are returned to the charter guest.
APA Payment
The APA is typically calculated at approximately 30% of the charter fee and is paid around four weeks prior to embarkation. This allows the captain and crew sufficient time to provision PACIFIC MERMAID and prepare for your charter.
